REFUND AND RETURNS POLICY
Last Updated: 2 October 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
This Refund and Returns Policy applies to purchases made through the online stores operated by SpeedQuip Auto Parts (Pty) Ltd and the SpeedQuip Group (“TSG”).
Our websites operate as part of a group network and may share catalogues, suppliers, warehouse stock, distribution arrangements, systems and fulfilment resources.
This policy explains the procedures for returns, exchanges, refunds and products supplied incorrectly, subject always to applicable South African law.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) or other applicable legislation.

3. BEFORE RETURNING A PRODUCT
Please contact us before sending any product back.
Customers should provide:
- Order number
- Customer name
- Contact number
- Part number
- Description of the problem
- Reason for the requested return
- Photographs where relevant
We may require additional information to assess the return.
A return reference or instructions may be provided before the product is returned.
4. INCORRECT PRODUCT SUPPLIED
If we supply the wrong product or an incorrect part compared with the product ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We will investigate the order and, where the error is confirmed to be ours, arrange an appropriate remedy.
Where the incorrect product was supplied because of a TSG error, the applicable replacement return or delivery courier cost will be handled by TSG.
The customer should not install, modify, alter, dismantle or otherwise use an incorrectly supplied product before contacting us.
5. PRODUCT DAMAGED DURING DELIVERY
Customers should inspect deliveries as soon as reasonably possible after receiving them.
If a product appears to have been damaged during delivery, please notify us promptly and provide photographs of:
- The product
- The packaging
- Any visible damage
- The delivery parcel or label where available
We will investigate the matter with the applicable courier or fulfilment provider and determine the appropriate remedy.
Nothing in this section limits rights provided by applicable law.
6. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
Products supplied to consumers are subject to the applicable statutory rights and warranties under South African law.
Where a product qualifies for a statutory return because it is defective or fails to meet applicable requirements, the remedy will be handled in accordance with the customer’s rights under the Consumer Protection Act and other applicable law.
Depending on the circumstances and the customer’s lawful rights, the remedy may include:
- Repair
- Replacement
- Refund
We may inspect or test a returned product to establish the nature of the problem.
7. PRODUCTS THAT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED
Automotive parts should be checked for correct application and fitment before installation.
Where reasonably possible, customers should confirm the part number and vehicle application before fitting a product.
Once a product has been installed, dismantled, modified, altered or damaged during installation, the return may require inspection before a remedy can be determined.
Nothing in this section removes any statutory right relating to defective goods.
8. INCORRECT FITMENT INFORMATION
Vehicle fitment information supplied by the customer is important when identifying automotive parts.
Where a customer provides incorrect or incomplete vehicle information and the product supplied corresponds with the information provided, the return will be assessed according to the circumstances and applicable law.
Customers should provide accurate information, including where available:
- Vehicle make
- Model
- Year
- Engine
- Engine code
- VIN or chassis number
- Existing part number
- Photographs of the original part
Where we have requested additional information for fitment confirmation, customers should provide it before installation.
9. CHANGE OF MIND / UNWANTED PRODUCTS
A change-of-mind return is different from a return for defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods.
Where a customer requests to return a product because it is no longer wanted, the request will be assessed according to the applicable provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, the nature of the transaction and the condition of the product.
Where a lawful return is accepted, the product may be required to be:
- Unused
- Undamaged
- Complete
- Suitable for resale
- Accompanied by all applicable accessories and components
- Returned in its original packaging where reasonably applicable
Special-order, customised, used, installed, altered or otherwise non-standard products may require individual assessment.
10. SPECIAL-ORDER PRODUCTS
Some products may be obtained specifically for a customer and may not normally be held as standard stock.
Special-order products may be subject to additional return conditions where permitted by law.
Customers will be informed where a product is a special-order item and where special conditions apply.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory consumer right.
11. COURIER COSTS
Where a return or replacement is required because of a confirmed TSG error or another circumstance where TSG is legally responsible for the applicable return or delivery cost, TSG will arrange the applicable courier process.
Where the customer is responsible for the return under the applicable circumstances, the customer may be responsible for the applicable courier cost.
Where a replacement is required because of a TSG error, TSG will arrange the applicable replacement courier from its courier arrangements.
12. REFUNDS
Where a refund is approved, the refund will normally be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
Refund processing times may depend on:
- Return of the product
- Inspection or assessment
- Approval of the refund
- Payment provider processing
- Banking processing times
We will not intentionally delay a refund beyond the period permitted or required by applicable law.
13. CUSTOMER REFUNDS AND GROUP ACCOUNTING
Where an order is processed through a TSG group structure and a customer is subsequently refunded, any internal group accounting associated with that order may be adjusted to reflect the refund.
This does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
14. PRODUCTS COVERED BY MANUFACTURER OR SUPPLIER WARRANTIES
Some products may carry a manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty in addition to statutory rights.
Where applicable, warranty claims may be subject to the manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty terms.
Customers may be required to provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Product information
- Serial numbers where applicable
- Photographs
- Installation information
- Other information reasonably required to assess the warranty claim
Manufacturer or supplier warranties do not replace statutory consumer rights.
15. PRODUCTS DAMAGED THROUGH MISUSE OR INCORRECT INSTALLATION
A product may be excluded from a particular voluntary warranty or return process where damage results from circumstances such as:
- Incorrect installation
- Incorrect application
- Modification
- Abuse
- Negligence
- Misuse
- Failure to follow installation instructions
- Use outside the manufacturer’s intended purpose
- Damage caused after delivery
The specific circumstances will be assessed before a final decision is made.
This does not exclude any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
16. RETURN INSPECTION
Returned products may be inspected to determine:
- Whether the product supplied corresponds with the order
- Whether the product is defective
- Whether damage occurred before or after delivery
- Whether the product has been installed or altered
- Whether the reported problem can be reproduced
- Whether a manufacturer or supplier warranty applies
Inspection does not remove or reduce any statutory consumer rights.
17. STOCK AND REPLACEMENTS
Because TSG operates a group-wide warehouse and distribution network, a replacement product may be fulfilled from an applicable TSG warehouse or approved distribution location.
The customer does not necessarily need to select or know which TSG warehouse fulfils the replacement.
Where the same product is unavailable, the applicable remedy will be determined in accordance with the customer’s rights and the circumstances of the transaction.
18. RETURNS FROM DIFFERENT TSG WEBSITES
Where a purchase was made through one of the TSG online stores, the return may be processed through the applicable TSG group system or fulfilment location.
The customer should use the contact details provided by the website from which the order was placed.
TSG may internally route the return to the appropriate warehouse, supplier, service provider or group operation.
19. PROOF OF PURCHASE
Customers should retain their:
- Order confirmation
- Invoice
- Payment confirmation
- Order number
- Delivery documentation
Proof of purchase may be requested when processing a return, refund or warranty claim.
20. FRAUDULENT OR ABUSIVE RETURNS
We reserve the right to investigate suspected fraudulent, dishonest or abusive return activity.
Any action taken will be subject to applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits a customer’s lawful statutory rights.
21. REFUNDS FOR CANCELLED OR FAILED ORDERS
If an order is cancelled or cannot be fulfilled and a refund is due, the applicable amount will be refunded through the appropriate payment method.
Where only part of an order is cancelled, the refund may relate only to the affected portion of the transaction.
22. COURIER DELIVERY AND RETURN COLLECTION
Courier arrangements may vary depending on the product, location, supplier, warehouse and delivery service.
Where TSG arranges a return collection, the customer must make the product reasonably available for collection and package it appropriately where required.
Customers should retain the courier collection information where provided.
23. IMPORTANT AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCT NOTICE
Automotive parts can affect vehicle safety and performance.
Customers should ensure that products are installed by a suitably qualified person where professional installation is appropriate.
Incorrect installation can result in vehicle damage, product failure or safety risks.
TSG is not responsible for installation work performed by a customer, workshop or third party, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
24. NO WAIVER OF STATUTORY RIGHTS
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove, reduce or exclude any right or protection provided to a consumer by the Consumer Protection Act or any other applicable South African law.
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
25. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
TSG may update this Refund and Returns Policy from time to time.
The latest version published on the applicable website will contain the current policy and update date.
